Salento on foot and by bike

The Cammino del Salento passes this way, so do the cycling routes, and the thermal baths are just around the corner.

On foot

The Cammino del Salento stops here

The Via del Mare crosses the heel of Italy from Lecce to Santa Maria di Leuca: 116 km in five stages along the Adriatic coast. Santa Cesarea Terme is the finish of the third stage and the start of the fourth, with a stamp on the Passaporto del Pellegrino.

In the village, sulphurous water springs from four sea caves, Fetida, Sulfurea, Gattulla and Solfatara, and the thermal baths are a few minutes from the campsite.

Trekking

Trails for a day out

The first three start on foot from the campsite, along the coast. For the others you take the car: two are trails of the Costa Otranto – Leuca Park that go where the Cammino doesn’t, the rest are stretches of the Cammino to walk in a few hours.

Distances are measured on the route, one way.

By bike

Salento is perfect for exploring by bike
